Lets talk about Cancer…

Cancer.

We hear about it all the time now, more now than we did 15 years ago. There are so many people raising money for cancer related foundations and research to find a cure. I was part of Relay for Life for many years in the past, helping to raise money. Its so good to know there are people who are actively fundraising for a good cause.

If you know anyone close to your heart that had cancer and didn’t make it, take a minute to remember the person they were and the legacy they left behind. If you know anyone who had cancer and survived, celebrate their victory and really acknowledge how strong they are to go through all the pain and actually have a chance to say that they did not give up on the fight they had with themselves.

So why am I talking about cancer?

I am the word of life-eternal life. I have always existed: I am that which was from the beginning. Moreover, I am divine. As the apostle John wrote, “The word was God.” This divine word brings life to all who believe in Me.

From the beginning of creation, words have been associated with life. Originally, the earth was formless, empty, and dark. Then I said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. I spoke everything into existence, including all the plants and animals. Finally, I spoke mankind into being.

The life I offer you is eternal. It begins when you trust Me as your only Savior-but it never ends. You can enjoy immense freedom through knowing there i for you. I have forever set you free from the law of sin and death! The best response to this glorious gift is grateful Joy-delighting in the One who loves you perfectly and eternally. Remember that I am always near you, closer than the air you breathe.

Devotion of the Day – Excerpt from “Jesus Always” by Sarah Young

One of My names is Wonderful Counselor. I understand you far, far better than you understand yourself. So come to Me with your problems and insecurities, seeking My counsel. In the light of My loving presence you can see yourself as you really are: radiantly lovely in My brilliant righteousness. Though My righteousness is perfect, you will continue to struggle with imperfections-yours and others-as long as you live in this world. Still, your standing with me is secure. Nothing in all creation can separate you from My love!

A good counselor helps you recognize truth and live according to it. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. So be open and honest when you bring Me your concerns. Also, fill your mind and heart with My word, which contains absolute truth.

A wonderful counselor is not only extremely good at helping people but also able to inspire delight or pleasure. Delight yourself in Me, beloved, and I will give you the desires of your heart.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6 NASB

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:38-39

Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” -John 18:37 NLT

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your hearts desires. -Psalm 37:4
